Originally coming from the real estate industry, Roel has a broad curiosity that led him into the world of venture capital. He enjoys establishing, developing and managing investment funds, and believes that doing this around portfolio companies with the ability to make a positive contribution to society is a logical and purposeful dedication of his professional career.

He joined BVP in 2024 as CFO and manages all fund and BVP operations and finances, focusing on a.o. the financial management, reporting, compliance and investor relations with a personal drive to deliver a 5-star quality level service.

Roel has well over 14 years of experience in portfolio / fund management and fund (re-)structuring. Prior to joining BVP, he served as Chief Operating Officer at Axis Retail Partners (part of Generali Investments) in Madrid where he played a key role in the establishment of a premier pan-European shopping centre fund. Before he worked in the pan-European strategy and organization department of ING Real Estate (later CBRE IM).

Outside of work, Roel enjoys spending time with his children and travel with them creating lasting memories. He is also a tennis and field hockey enthusiast and serves as treasurer in the board of Hockeyclub Delta Venlo.

Roel holds an MSc in Finance & Investments from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
