Portfolio of disruptive agrifood innovations.

The Brightlands Agrifood Fund invests in companies with a link to the fast-growing Brightlands Campus Greenport Venlo innovation hub. The portfolio comprises innovations in the Agritech space (seed, grow and harvest) and innovations transitioning the global food system and access to healthy food. The fund closely collaborates with the Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO) who provided a €6M seed capital facility.

Chemelot Ventures is the successor fund of Limburg Ventures with a focus on growing further the Brightlands ecosystem. The fund invests in early-stage innovations with measurable impact in the fields of regenerative medicine & biomedical materials, diagnostics & analytics and sustainable chemicals & materials. To date, the fund has realized various successful exits to a.o. Fresenius Kabi, Medtronic and LyondellBasell.

Our genesis: launched to grow the Brightlands ecosystem.

Limburg Ventures is a pioneering regional venture capital fund in the province of Limburg (Netherlands), established at a time when there was no startup climate or infrastructure available. The fund invested in early-stage innovations with measurable impact in the fields of life sciences (regenerative medicine, drug delivery, drug screening, and formulation and diagnostics) and advanced materials (bio-based polymers and coatings, processing and applications). To date, the fund has realized various successful exits to a.o. BASF, Fresenius Kabi, Lonza and Medtronic.
