BVP today announces its investment in Noah Labs, a health technology company founded in Berlin and headquartered in Boston. The investment supports the company’s US clinical and regulatory programme, anchored by the VOICE-HF pivotal trial which recently started in the US, and the expansion of its commercial base in Europe.
Vox, Noah Labs’ voice-based biomarker, is designed to detect worsening heart failure from a short voice recording on a patient’s own phone. Fluid building up in the lungs changes the sound of the voice weeks before symptoms appear; Vox picks up that change and alerts the cardiology team in time to adjust medication and avoid a hospital admission. In the TIM-HF3 Voice study of 105 outpatients (European Journal of Heart Failure, 2026), Vox detected 84 percent of worsening events a median of 29 days ahead, against 36 percent for daily weight monitoring. Vox holds FDA Breakthrough Device Designation.
The tools that can see deterioration coming already exist, but they reach few patients. Implantable pressure sensors work well, yet only a small fraction of people with heart failure qualify for one. Vox was built on the conviction that voice could give the many the early warning that implants give the few: a phone reaches nearly every patient, at a fraction of the cost, including those furthest from specialist care.
The investment will contribute to the pivotal trial and FDA De Novo submission, the clinical programme with US health systems, and the expansion of the European commercial base. In the Netherlands, Noah Labs works with Maastricht UMC+, a leading European centre for heart failure telemonitoring.
“Every few minutes, heart failure patients are admitted to hospital with a decompensation their own voice had been announcing for weeks, and until now there was simply no way to listen at scale. This investment helps us prove, through VOICE-HF, that a short daily recording on the phone a patient already owns can close that gap, and it strengthens the European commercial base that keeps our technology grounded in daily clinical routine. In BVP we found a partner who understood within one conversation that the next vital sign in heart failure care is the human voice.”
About Noah Labs
Noah Labs is a health technology company founded in Berlin in 2021 and headquartered in Boston. Its Vox platform analyses short voice recordings to detect worsening heart failure before symptoms appear and delivers alerts into existing remote monitoring workflows. Vox holds FDA Breakthrough Device Designation and is being evaluated in the VOICE-HF pivotal trial in support of a US De Novo submission, following completion of the PRE-DETECT-HF pivotal trial in Europe. Noah Labs’ Ark platform is CE-marked Class IIa under MDR and in commercial use in Germany; the company is ISO 13485 certified. Vox is an investigational device, not yet cleared in the United States or CE marked in Europe.
“Heart failure monitoring has a reach problem, not an accuracy problem. Implants work, but reach a few percent of patients; a phone is in everyone's pocket. Noah Labs has turned that insight into published evidence, a commercial base in Germany and active programmes with leading US health systems. We are proud to back Oliver, Marcus, Leonhard and the team as they take Vox through its US pivotal trial.”
